Amnesty International is calling on the new government of Mexico to reform the public
security and criminal justice system in order to end widespread human rights violations. It is
also vital that federal and state authorities take all necessary steps to ensure that state law and
practice are consistent with international human rights standards and that longstanding
impunity for human rights abuses ends.
