Global Survey: Attitudes to Torture

A Global Survey of more than 21,000 people in 21 countries across every continent reveals:
Nearly half (44%) of respondents fear torture if taken into custody. The vast majority (82%) believe there should be clear laws against torture. Over a third (36%) believe that torture can be justified
in some cases to protect the public.
