Host an AmnesTEA Event

Put the kettle on for human rights!

Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are not encouraging people to gather at this time. However, if you do, please be sure to follow social distancing guidelines.

Join Amnesty and drink tea in support of human rights.

The idea behind AmnesTEA is pretty simple: bake some cakes, boil the kettle and gather some people together to raise funds for human rights.

This year’s AmnesTEA ambassador is the bestselling author Marian Keyes. Marian is encouraging everyone to host AmnesTEA and support human rights.

I’m thrilled to be this year’s AmnesTea ambassador. Hosting a simple AmnesTEA event is a great way to gather friends, family or co-workers and raise essential funds to protect human rights around the world. An AmnesTea can be big or small, elaborate or intimate - you can host it at home or at work. The important thing is everyone has a great time enjoying a cuppa and some tasty treats whilst taking a stand for human rights

Marian Keyes, best-selling author and AmnesTEA ambassador

It’s free to register, simple to get involved and best of all, fun to host an AmnesTEA.

An AmnesTea can be big or small, elaborate or intimate – and you can host it at home or at work, OR in your school, university. Have a traditional 1950s-style tea party, or organise one in your local pub and serve cocktails with your cakes. Ask a few friends to bake cakes to sell at school, or simply collect donations for Amnesty at your next church coffee morning.

At Amnesty, people often ask how they can help. By raising funds through events such as AmnesTEA you are making a difference to our human rights campaigning.
