Help reunite Neth with her Children
“Let’s use the constitution and technology, our own phones, to defend ourselves. Let’s read books to know our rights, and then use our phones to film everything”.
Neth Nahara
Neth Nahara, a 32-year-old mother and singer from Angola, has been silenced for daring to speak out. In August 2023, she used her voice to encourage women to pursue education and independence in a TikTok live video. But after criticising the President of Angola on TikTok, Neth was swiftly arrested and sentenced to prison. Her sentence has since been extended to two years.
In prison, Neth was denied life-saving HIV medication for eight months. Her health deteriorated, and she was hospitalised in December. While she is now receiving treatment, her morale is low, her two young children remain separated from their mother, and her family struggles daily to bring her food, care for her kids, and fight for her freedom.
