Rocky Myers Is Free – But The Fight Continues
After more than 30 years on death row, Rocky Myers is finally free from the shadow of execution. Thanks to the tireless advocacy of Amnesty International supporters like you, Alabama Governor Kay Ivey has commuted his death sentence – an act of justice that would not have happened without a powerful global movement demanding his freedom.
This victory was only possible because of the unwavering dedication of our Amnesty member community. Your letters, petitions, and relentless pressure helped turn the tide.
This is a moment of celebration. A moment of victory. And a moment of hope.
But Rocky is not the only one.
More than two dozen individuals in Alabama alone remain on death row due to the now-outlawed practice of judicial override – where judges have imposed death sentences despite jury recommendations for life. Many, like Rocky, have faced deeply flawed legal proceedings, racial bias, and wrongful convictions.
The death penalty is a human rights violation. It is cruel, inhumane, and unjust. And while Rocky’s life has been spared, others remain at risk.
Your activism helped free Rocky. Now, we need your support to continue this fight.
We fought for Rocky. Will you donate today to help free others who are wrongfully convicted and facing execution?
Your donation powers the investigations, legal advocacy, and global campaigns that expose injustice and save lives. Please give as generously as you can.
