Friendship Week

Join us for our annual primary school event, Friendship Week.

Taking part could be a single lesson, a whole day event or whatever suits your school. Activities are suitable from Junior Infants to 6th Class.

The theme of this year’s Friendship Week is Solidarity: Extending the hand of friendship to all. Building knowledge of the connections we have with people in other places instills empathy within children and is vital to ensure their successful future participation in our global world.

Your Friendship Week activity pack is…

  • Created by teachers for teachers.
  • Suitable from Junior Infants to 6th Class.
  • Includes practical, curriculum-linked classroom activities and an introduction to human rights for children.
  • Includes free child-friendly Friendship Bracelets with new slogans for 2016 in both English and Irish.

Our teachers say:

“A great learning experience for the whole school involving children of all ages.”

Tom Conaty, Zion Parish Primary School, Co. Dublin

“Friendship Week is a great way to reinforce our school’s anti-bullying policy which promotes friendship.”

Belinda Treanor, St . Michael’s NS, Co. Monaghan

“Friendship Week was an excellent example of how positive reinforcement is a powerful tool. Our pupils focused on being proactive in reaching out to one another rather than dwelling on the negatives that are associated with anti-bullying. A great week to build a foundation for good school morale.”

Louise Kenny, Scoil Eanna, Co. Cork
