How to promote your group

Amnesty International Ireland Website
Amnesty provides a number of ways for you to promote your Group, and this website is the most useful. We have developed an area that is dedicated solely to promoting and facilitating AI activism around the country, and we will continue to add and improve it by developing new tools and through your feedback.

Please use the complete the relevant form below to add information about your group to the website:

Facebook
Some groups have already begun to promote their group on Facebook and are successfully building up online support (see ‘Amnesty Ireland - Israel/Occupied Palestinian Territories Group’). It is particularly useful for groups who are interested in AI’s position on a particular issue, so Facebook works well for groups with a country-specific or thematic focus.

If you feel there are enough people in your region who will want to support you by joining you local group’s page online, find other Facebook pages particular to your region and ask members there to join your Group too.

The most important thing to consider when deciding whether to set up a Facebook group is whether you have sufficient information to update it on a regular basis.

There already exists an Amnesty |nternational-Ireland Facebook page, where much of the info happening around Ireland is promoted. You can use this page by emailing your Campaigns Officer with the details you wish to include and they will arrange for the posting.

The Ebulletin
Amnesty Ireland distributes an online newsletter once a month to almost 10,000 supporters and members around Ireland. You can include any pieces of news you would like us to include. Merely get in contact with your Campaigns Officer and they will prepare the rest.

Remember: when including anything in the Ebulletin, keep to the Who? What? Where? When? How? Format!

Group Mail
The Group Mail is a hardcopy document that is sent to all AI activist groups around the country. This is a way of sharing information with or seeking information from others who are doing similar human rights campaigning around the country.

Just send your notice into your Campaigns Officer, who will do the rest!
