Join Amnesty International at Electric Picnic 2010

16 August 2010

For the fifth year in a row, Amnesty International Ireland will be donning our wellies, packing up our tents and bringing fun and games to Electric Picnic!

You can find us at the Global Green, where we’ll be playing our old-school bingo games every half-hour, with prizes for anyone who scores a full house.

But once you’ve had your fill of bingo, don’t go away – as night falls, we’ll have three new bands performing until midnight.

Five-piece rock band DeBurca, acoustic singer Sara Lou and hip hop artists the Urban Druids will be supporting Amnesty International at the festival this year.

Fight for human rights
Be part of Amnesty International’s fight for human rights around the world by giving your contact details to one of our many volunteers who will be roaming the festival grounds.

You’ll receive a free six-month Amnesty International membership in return, during which you’ll receive monthly e-bulletins about our ongoing campaigns.

Meanwhile, our Freedom Café will once again provide some chilling-out space for those who need a break from the festival madness.

Serving Fair Trade tea, coffee, muffins, our cafe is the ideal spot in which to chill out and is open everyday from 9am to 9pm.

Sign our petitions
On Saturday we’ll be asking everyone to sign our “Thirst for Justice” petition, calling on the Israeli government to end their unfair water policies that deny Palestinian families the right to water.

On Sunday, it’s time to stand up for the people of Zimbabwe by signing our petition that demands an end to the appalling human rights abuses that are ongoing in their country.
This year, thousands of music lovers will help celebrate human rights with Amnesty International at Electric Picnic 2010.

See you there!
