Dublin Women's Mini Marathon, 3 June 2013

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in the Dublin Women's Mini Marathon for Amnesty International this year! Every cent raised by all our runners and walkers will make a big difference to our work defending human rights! Take a look at our picutures from the day.

Entries to the biggest all women's event of its kind in the world open online from Wendesday 20 February 2013. Registration forms will also be available in the Evening Herald newspaper each Wednesday and Saturday, but don't delay in signing up as this event always books up in no time!

Get involved in the Dublin Women's Mini Marathon and stand up for an individual at risk around the world. Every metre you run this summer could help change a life.

2. Get sponsored | Bring your card to work or college, tell your friends, family and neighbours. Set up your online fundraising page on www.mycharity.ie and share it on your Facebook and Twitter accounts.

 

3. Start training! | Get your runners on and prepare for the big day in June! We are here to support you so don't be afraid to get in touch if there is anything we can help you with.

Azza Hilal Ahmad Suleiman was seriously injured when Egyptian soldiers attacked her for trying to defend another young woman. Show solidarity with her fight for justice and take part in this years' Dublin Women's Mini Marathon.

Ales Bialiatski Ales Bialiatski

Ales Bialiatski is a prominent human rights defender in Belarus and chairman of the organization Human Rights Centre Viasna. He is in prison for using his personal bank accounts in Lithuania and Poland to support his organization’s human rights work in Belarus. Help call for the unconditional release of Ales Bialiatski and for all charges against him to be dropped by takin part in the Dublin Women's Mini Marathon.

Abd Al Rahim Hussayn Muhammed Al Nashiri

Abd al Rahim Hussayn Muhammed al-Nashiri was arrested in 2002 in Dubai and handed over to US custody where he was held in secret detention by the USA’s Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) for almost four-and-a-half years. Show solidarity with him and other Guantánamo detainees. Help us ensure that they are charged with a recognizably criminal offence and given fair trials without recourse to the death penalty by taking part in the Dublin Women's Mini Marathon.
